The Wild Explorer’s Club

IMG_9597.JPG

We sit down for breakfast one morning a week to watch a short two minute video. Ranger Kyle explains the assignment for the week. I tell N & L, “Boys, it’s time to go exploring.” N grabs his adventure pack and L tries desperately to get his own shoes on. He’s two. I take a deep breath and say a quick prayer of protection over us as we step outside our tiny home on wheels. We’re in the Tetons currently, wildlife abounds, and I have to contain my excitement and remember that I’m in charge of logistics - I’m the adult. I tick off the important items we need in my head. Today’s assignment is to collect a specimen from nature and learn about it. This could take five minutes or two hours. The adventure comes in the journey not the destination because some days let’s be honest we only make it half a mile.

To the right are all the details on how to join Wild & Free’s Wild Explorer’s Club. And if you’ve never heard of Wild & Free click on the black button. I’ve been following along way before my children were born, knowing it’s exactly the type of community I would need in motherhood to feel supported. And this year, they made the New York Times sharing their philosophy on how we as parents are at the core of our children’s education and how we can all (homeschoolers, remote learners, traditional in school learners) try to simplify our lives.
